RIDGELY B. FRANCISCO By the time he was nine years old, Ridgely had designed his own greeting cards, developed cartoon characters for his own imaginative newspaper and decided that creating beautiful art would be a driving force in his life. After leaving Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications in 1974, Ridgely quickly became an award-winning Art Director, working in New York and Philadelphia. He created and helped produce numerous TV commercials, print ads and collateral support campaigns. The opportunity for him to bring forth his own creative input, however, was not often available in the field of advertising. So... Ridgely began to experiment with digital technology as a medium that would allow him to express his creative ideas and artistic talent. Today, the focus of his artwork is his fascination of the forms, color and texture found in nature. How they capture light. How the forms evolve over time and how their texture and shape work within its' own natural surroundings. By combining his talents as a photographer with his ability to create emotionally charged paintings, Ridgely is fast becoming known as a sought after artist, taking his digital art talents to a new level. |
